This Relic style pendant features an ancient coin circa after 238-244 AD. It features the head of Gordian III, who was Roman emperor from 238 to 244. At the age of 13, he became the youngest sole emperor of the united Roman Empire

Our Relic styles are handcrafted using traditional sandcasting techniques.  The bezel surrounding this coin was formed from wax that was used to create a mold in sand. Molten gold was poured into this mold, resulting in the rich, one-of-a-kind texture you see.
